Queens Of Art

Angela and Steffany Malone

Somerset Maugham Gallery

8 - 21 November
Angela and her daughter Steffany have created a beautiful collection
of affordable artwork, to celebrate 10 years working together as artists.
Ceramics prints and paintings not to be missed.

Angela is an award winning sculptor with some pieces having been on
display at the British Museum in London. She taught Steffany to paint
and they both graduated from the University of Creative Arts Canterbury,
sharing a year at uni together. Steffany has shown her detailed portraits
in the Lapada art and antiques fair in Berkley Square London and was short
listed for the Curwen art prize also.

On a trip to Liberty’s, after one of Steffany’s hospital appointments both
ladies were looking through wallpaper sample books for inspiration. The title
for the show ‘Queens of Art’ came from Christian Lacroix’s wallpaper
‘Maisonettes de Jeu’. This collection of work is a showcase for the combination
of delicate details and bold design. Angela’s modern botanical watercolours and
Steffany’s oil paintings in sheet metal, creates art like that on the pages of Vogue.
