Rupert Hayes studied in Banbury and KIAD Canterbury graduating in 1995. He moved to Whitstable that year.

A prolific and experimental artist, his artwork is popular and found all over Whitstable: on walls, in houses, in gardens, on fences, gates, sheds even paving slabs.

Three years ago Rupert had a stroke. He now lives in Banbury in a specialist care unit.
Since his illness he has not returned to Whitstable.

In June 2013 the Horsebridge will exhibit a retrospective of Rupert’s work .
This will include carved and painted wood, pictures, ceramics, sculptures and prints. Some prints will be for sale.

We are hoping that Rupert will be well enough to come down and spend a week in Whitstable.

Our galleries are open 9am - 6pm daily (10am - 6pm Sunday's / 5pm winter hours)
