Screening introduced by Jane Linden of the David Lynch Foundation
A documentary that follows internationally acclaimed film director David Lynch on a 16-country tour throughout Europe, Israel and Brazil. The film allows audiences an exclusive look at Lynch's craft through his lectures at top international film schools and one-on-one interviews. Released to celebrate the launch of the David Lynch Foundation for the UK in 2012, this documentary focuses on David Lynch’s thirty-nine year practice of Transcendental Meditation as a means to increase clarity of mind, and experience a deep level of rest. The David Lynch Foundation funds courses in Transcendental Meditation for young people, veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, the homeless and other disadvantaged groups. A Q&A with David Lynch Foundation member Jane Linden will be held after the feature.
"Ideas are like fish. If you want to catch little fish, you can stay in the shallow water. But if you want to catch the big fish, you have got to go deeper. Down deep, the fish are more powerful and more pure. They are huge and abstract. And they are very beautiful.
I look for a certain kind of fish that is important for me, one that can translate to cinema…
T.M has been central to my work in film and painting and to all areas of my life. For me it has been the way to dive deeper in search of the big fish." David Lynch
