Herne Bay Arts Group was formed in 1957 and is proud to record that its first president was the English portrait painter, Augustus John. The aims of the group are to encourage new and existing members in all branches of art and to organise activities to that end.

Regular meetings are held during the year when demonstrations are given by professional artists. An Annual Exhibition takes place in early August as well as many opportunities for exhibiting outdoors on the seafront during the summer.

A ‘Studio Workshop’ was formed in 1975 and continues to give members an opportunity to paint together as well as being a social occasion.
